Row Row Row Your Boat

Much the same as yesterday, initially, breakfast then some reading down the shaded sunset side of the island and a swim. Lunch at a bar there and back to my room for the heat retreat.
A spider in a tree is one thing but I hadn't thought of the water snakes............until now!
I might start making enquiries into where to go from here. I'm thinking of going back to Laung Prabang for my last few days, an easy flight to Hanoi or maybe a few days trek over the border in the north.
My favourite tree and the local school.
I worked on the monthly harddrive backup then went to “Poi in Lao” the dreadlock bar, they run a free sunset cruise. So at about five, ten or so of us pile into the boat and head off for some beach area away from the island to view the sunset. With the esky on board we arrive at a nice deserted piece of beach and see the last half hour of sunset over a few beers.
That's my room up there.
Some Scando Lads have a ball jumping in the Mekong off the sand bar.
After the sun has gone down we head off back to the island. About ten minutes into the journey the motor splutters and dies.........................We spent an hour using our seat benches as oars to row ourselves towards the lights of the nearest beach! hilarious.

Walking back to the bar (about one kilometre) to get my thongs and novel back I bump into someone in the darkest part of the track and of course it is Cedric. We keep having these weirdly timed meetings.

After I get my stuff from “Pai in Lao” we head to The Streetview where Darren manages to stump me again this time with the pork schnitzel – I’m taking it where I can find it if it’s good.

It’s been a long day including the one hour of paddling so I retire shortly after dinner.
