Don't Dream It's Over

I didn’t get up until ten thirty on my last day in Lao, the exercise from the last couple of days took it’s toll. I went down the road for brunch, thanked “O beautiful one” and went for a swim for the morning.

I will miss this view.

I did some last minute unimportant things, I bought a new “hoodie”, I payed for my accommodation, pulled everything out of my backpack to see what I don’t need to carry anymore then repacked it and caught up on some email. After such a busy day I decided I should have a late afternoon massage. 

I headed down the street for a sunset beer then had dinner, pizza, it was terrible. I went back to my room for an early night (tomorrow morning’s pickup is at six) and to triple check I have everything in order and ready to go.  

After two months amongst the relaxed, happy Lao people and culture, Vietnam will be a shock to the system. Laos is two thirds the area of Vietnam with a population of six million people, compared to the slightly bigger country with ninety million people. It follows that as much as I like Vietnam and it’s people, it can’t help but be more chaotic and intense, it may take a couple of days but I’ll be fine.
