And Back Again

So from a whim last night I find myself in a minivan at nine in the morning on my way back to Vang Vieng. The ride down wasn’t too bad, six hours, mostly good road. I called shotgun but had a cute Canadian girl sitting in the middle seat anyway (ain't complaining) but well worth the extra leg room.

We stopped a couple of times along the way, most of the morning we were truly in the clouds.
Another time a local woman tried to sell the driver some rat/guinea pig/hampster things when he pulled over to talk to her. I think he actually just stopped to freak us out, the whole van yelled “you’re not bringing them in the van!”
We also had to stop for half an hour for the earthmoving equipment to move a landslide.
Then the final stop was at this mountain peak viewing spot where I was a month or so ago on the bike.
We arrived in Vang Vieng and I went to the place I stayed last time, no bungalow this time but a room on the second floor, no TV but man what a view from my balcony, that's my old bungalow in the foreground from last time I was here-then the river-then the mountains.
I went straight for a massage for my back then headed off down the street for some dinner and “Family Guy”.
