A Day At The Races

It is National Lao Day! So I start breakfast early and get on the Guest House boat and motor back up to Don Khong where they have annual boat races for the holiday.
People are coming from everywhere, endless boats heading for the races.
Cedric came with me on our boat and when we arrived, about ten, we found two seats at the front balcony of a bar and started drinking with a full view of the races.
This whole place was deserted when I stayed here the first night.....um.....sometime ago.
First the band platform.

Then there's two monks on a platform watching the races, when they first went by, one was on his mobile phone and the other was taking photos with his digital camera.
Seriously man, where did we park?
We got back on the boat about three and headed back to Don Det.
Cedric and I went for a drink at The Streetview, I ordered some pasta but had to go down to the beach for a quick swim to liven myself up a bit. The food was just what I needed but it was a big day so after a couple of “last” vodkas I went back to my room for an early night.
