Grey Sunday

Just another grey sunless day in Hanoi. I did some walking and exploring, had a beer or two here and there and got some more reading done on “A Brief History Of Time”.

It must be an age thing? I see younger tourists walking around in shorts and T-shirts, seriously, yes it is Vietnam but really, there is nothing tropical about this place right now. I bought a new jumper.  

It’s hard to get motivated to look for work and I don’t think I’ll try in Hanoi, which was my original intention. I’ll hang out here for another week or so but I don’t think I want to be in this climate which will continue for another couple of months, constant sniffles and wind chills, no rain yet though. 

I think I’ll head further south probably to Da Nang, I may as well be in sunny climes for NYE…………but anything is possible, just not very motivated today, I’ll try again tomorrow.

Late afternoon I head out for a massage but I’d be better off having one in the morning so I wander the streets and end up at my favourite restaurant “City View”. The waitress convinces me that it’s better to buy the (300ml) bottle of vodka for the same price as two glasses of vodka and I agree and also order a can of soda. I remember the food being good and the traffic being easier to navigate on the way back to my room…………….
