Vientiane Is Ok But........

I slept to seven and was at Jomo’s for breakfast at eight. Now what do I do for the rest of the day? I pretty much saw all the sights yesterday. There is a Buddha park about twenty five kilometres out of town but it’s all concrete structures only twenty or so years old, nothing special.

I have the one temple I haven’t visited yet so I go to give thanks to “O beautiful one” but the prayer hall isn’t open yet so I give thanks to one of the many Buddha images around the temple.
Then I decide to treat myself to a haircut and a manicure/pedicure for the first time ever, wow what a boring experience that is but at least I now have the cleanest feet and hand nails in Vientiane.
I’m a bit hungry so I go for a second breakfast, how could I not go to the Full Moon café? It has my tattoo for a logo.

Then it’s time for a massage, my back is feeling much better now. Then I go back to my room to rest my back and watch a movie or two and avoid the midday heat in my air-conditioning. My Vietnamese VISA is a two day process but I got here on Friday so it won’t be done until Monday so I’m just killing time at the moment but resting up is good.
Late afternoon I head to “Bor Pen Nyang” for sunset but it’s a very polluted sky and there is not much of a show, the sun disappears in the haze before it reaches the horizon but the last we see of it is blood red. But the pork steak with mash and pepper sauce was great.
I took a waltz through the night markets on the way home and had a contemplative moment on the boulevard listening to “Coldplay - Fix You”.
