Farewell Vang Vieng, It's Been a Blast.

I slept on and off last night but when I was asleep it was nice and deep. Greg was feeling a bit worse for wear this morning so we went for breakfast and booked our tickets to Vientiane for tomorrow.

I went for another swim at my little swimming spot which freshened me up then we headed back to our Guest House. Greg went for a lie down and I went for a massage then a lie down.
The good thing about being a Tuk Tuk driver is when buisness is slow you can just hang your hammock in the back and take a snooze, it's the Lao way!

It’s a lazy day today and Greg isn’t in quite the party mood I was expecting thank goodness, my system is appreciating a bit of time off partying, recuperating instead. He knocks on my door at about three and we head down the street for some nibbles and shakes.
Greg is still very weary so he heads back to the Guest House and I go for another swim.
Tubers just arriving back from a day of drinking and floating down river.
I walk across the bridge and explore the other side of the river bank. I arrive back in time to see the balloons starting their sunset ride. Whoever came up with that smart idea would be making some money.
Above - my room from across the river, it's right behind the big green tree.
I head back to my room to finish this blog and upload it because I have to start packing the backpack for tomorrows journey, hardly seems like it but I’ve been here for over a week now. I paid my Guest House bill – 870,000Kip. That’s eight nights accommodation in a pretty good room, two washing loads and a couple of meals that went on the bill – it amounts to just under one hundred and ten dollars!

So I’m guessing I will stir Greg up in a while and drag him down the street for dinner, he has his heart set on Indian, then a couple of shakes and an early night. I will need the rest, I’m dreading the journey tomorrow. We booked a mini van so it shouldn’t be so bad and it’s only about four hours but I’m still worried about how my back will handle it.
