The view from my bedroom window of Khon Kaen (pop 150,000)
The Lao consulate.
So we went back to the hotel and relaxed before check out then caught a taxi to the bus station for the three hour wait for the bus. My plans have changed and I am heading back to Vientiane , I’m not sure why I just don’t like the vibe in Thailand and this way I will get to see all of Laos from Vientiane down to the four thousand islands in the south which was the original idea. I may be a bit harsh on Thailand, it's hard to get off a bus from the "extremely laid back" Laos and have ten Tuk Tuk drivers "in your face" just itching to take you anywhere for as much money as they can con from you.
Jack hammer in back ground.
We wait at the station for three hours with a jack hammer digging up sidewalk near by, headache material.
The bus finally left at three fifteen and it was reasonably empty so I got to stretch out across the back seat for most of the five hour journey.
After the border check points we made it to Vientiane by eight, found a reasonable hotel and went out for some Indian before crashing out, there was probably more to todays story but it has been another early tiring day.
